Connecting Your First Pedal
Follow these steps to get your pedal talking to Nitelite.
Physical Setup
Section titled “Physical Setup”Before opening the app, get your gear connected:
- Plug your USB-MIDI interface into your computer.
- Run a 5-pin MIDI cable from the interface’s MIDI OUT to your pedal’s MIDI IN.
- Power on your pedal.
In Nitelite
Section titled “In Nitelite”-
Allow MIDI access
When you first open nitelite.ai, your browser will ask for permission to use MIDI devices. Click Allow. Without this, Nitelite can’t communicate with your pedal.
If you accidentally clicked Block, you can reset this in your browser’s site settings.
-
Select your MIDI output device
Click the MIDI plug icon in the left sidebar to open the MIDI panel. Under Output Device, you should see your USB-MIDI interface listed. Select it.
If nothing appears, check that your interface is plugged in and try refreshing the page.
-
Choose your pedal
Click the pedal name at the top of the screen to open the pedal selector. Find your pedal by manufacturer or search by name. Click it to load the pedal view.
-
Verify it’s working
Turn a knob on screen. Your physical pedal should respond immediately — you’ll see the parameter change reflected on the hardware. If it doesn’t respond, double-check your MIDI cable direction and channel settings.
Next Steps
Section titled “Next Steps”- Build your pedal collection to filter the selector to just your owned pedals.
- Set MIDI channels if you have multiple pedals on the same MIDI chain.
